Training in Llama Legends

Training has four modes. Expeditions send cards on timed journeys for XP. Patrols generate resources in the background. Sparring is an active timing minigame. Limit Break raises a card level cap once it reaches the ceiling. Each mode uses its own slots, so you can run several at once.

Expeditions

#

Expeditions are timed journeys. Choose Short (1 hour), Medium (4 hours), Long (8 hours), or Epic (24 hours). Longer trips return more XP, and some promo cards tied to achievements are tied to expedition milestones.

Expeditions use their own slots. A card can be on an expedition while another card is on patrol, which makes the mode a background XP engine rather than a replacement for active play.

Patrols

#

Patrols generate passive resources. They use separate slots from Expeditions, so you can train several cards at the same time. Patrol output scales with the card and with the duration you choose.

Sparring

#

Sparring is a live timing minigame. Land perfect hits to build a streak and finish the session. Completing 100 perfect sessions unlocks the exclusive Dummy Llama promo card.

Sparring is the active option. Use it when you want to play rather than wait, and use Expeditions and Patrols when you want progress while you are away.

Limit Break

#

Every 10 levels, a card hits its level cap and needs a Limit Break to keep leveling. The resource depends on the card type: standard cards use Ascension Crystals, promo cards use Legacy Gems, and Ancient cards use Ancient Adamant.

Limit Break is the gate over time. A card can be max level for its current cap and still be far from its final level. Plan the resource you need before you invest XP into a card you cannot break yet.
