The five finishes
#A finish is a layer on top of the artwork. It does not change stats. It changes how the card catches the light, and it is the main reason a perfect card still has collection depth.
Standard
The clean base look. Every card starts here.
Glitter
Fine sparkles drift across the artwork without hiding the original colours.
Holo
A rainbow prismatic sheen that shifts as the card moves.
Foil
A metallic foil layer with a sharp specular highlight.
Gold
The premium gold treatment with warm reflections and a heavy frame glow.
The two designs
#Standard keeps the familiar frame with the name plate, stats, and lore panel. Full Art lets the artwork run edge to edge with a minimal overlay. The design is independent of the finish, which is why five finishes across two designs produce ten variants.
How Glaze works
#Glaze comes from raids, event missions, the Black Market, variant mastery, gifts, chests, and promo codes. You spend it on a card that already has a grade 10.0 copy to unlock a finish or a design. Upgrading a variant costs more than unlocking the first step.
The card needs the perfect copy before the variant can be unlocked. A grade 9.9 card is not enough. This is the point where grading and collecting meet: you keep pulling until a 10.0 lands, then you decide which variant to build.
Variant mastery
#Owning all ten variants of a card completes its variant mastery. The game tracks this per card and per series. Mastery progress feeds achievements and gives a long term goal that does not depend on new cards being added.
Because the design axis doubles the finish axis, a full set is ten unlocks, not five. Plan Glaze around the cards you actually use in the Arena first, then fill the collection.
Frequently asked questions
How many variants does a card have?
Ten. Five finishes multiplied by two designs. Each variant requires a grade 10.0 copy of the card and Glaze to unlock.
Do finishes change combat stats?
No. Finishes and designs are cosmetic. They do not change HP, ATK, DEF, speed, or crit.
Where do I get Glaze?
Glaze comes from raids, event missions, the Black Market, variant mastery rewards, gifts, chests, and promo codes.
Can I unlock a variant on a card I do not own?
No. You need the card and a grade 10.0 copy before a finish or design can be unlocked.
